We would like to invite everyone out to the farm for our fall event co-hosted by Upper Bay Bassets. Thats right Basset Hounds! With their short legs, floppy ears, and sweet dispositions this event will be over the top adorable. The pack will be hunting rabbits on property with the first hunt at 2:30 and second at 4:30. During intermission hang out by the fire and grab a hot tamale from Good Golly Tamale and meet the hounds. (Psst..don't tell the dogs but the rabbits always win)

The Upper Bay Bassets are excited to be invited to the Blue Goose Winery’s fall event. The pack was founded in 1985 and are kenneled in Greenback. They are field trial hounds that compete nationally as a pack finding, tracking, and chasing rabbits. Chasing is a low impact, non-lethal sport that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Watching bassets after rabbits with their ears in the wind, and giving it all they got, is guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Come see them in action!

Red Sangria
1 Bottle Vinny's Special Red or Foothills Red
1/2 liter of club soda
1/4 cup fresh orange juice
1/2 cup silver rum
up to 1/4 cup super fine sugar (based on your desired taste)
Mixed fruit such as apples, berries, citrus 
Mix up all your ingredients in a pitcher or punch bowl and serve over ice


Pro Tips: Don't have super fine sugar no worries you can utilize a basic coffee grinder to make your normal or course sugar fine. 
You can add more wine or club soda based on the desired strength of your drink.
Also for a great winter or Christmas sangria simply add some cloves and cinnamon.


White Sangria 
1 bottle Foothills kiss or Foothills White
1/4 cup welches sparkling grape juice
1/4 cup club soda
1/4 silver rum
mixed fruit such as apples, white grapes, and berries
Mix up and serve over ice

You may be aware our proprietors daughter is a photographer due to the lovely farm photos on our website, and for sale in our gift shop. We would like our guests to see some of her work within the field of fine art and travel photography. What better way to kick off the summer than an art show here on the farm, so come out Memorial Day weekend and walk through our outdoor gallery.

Cat’s work with photography began as a young child when she and her brother started making pinhole cameras, then developing prints in their parents basement. Later her love evolved into 35mm film when her parents bought her the first camera she would use. To this day she still uses her film camera purchased over 20 years ago. In college her work continued to improve thanks to a talented and encouraging professor at Maryville College. After graduating in 2011 she continued her work as a photojournalist for 9 years before returning home to help with the family farm. 


Although she stays busy as Director of Operations at the Blue Goose, she still finds time for her art and travel. Cat has been a juror in 4H sponsored photography contests for the East Tennessee area, as well as, jurying art competitions for Fine Arts Blount. She has had photography, painting, and 3 dimensional pieces displayed at the Bagwell Center for the Arts Gallery in Knoxville. She also has a piece on permanent display in the Maryville College humanities department. She has won several awards from the Knoxville Arts and Culture Alliance, and continues to be accepted into national and international shows throughout the United States.

Sweet Pea gave birth last week, and we now have this little guy...meet the newest, and possibly cutest, new member of the family. Stop by to say hello to him this week, and find out if we have a name for him yet. See everyone soon.
