One of our favorite summer drinks here at the Blue Goose is sangria! It's perfect served over ice for a relaxing unwind on the porch or by the pool. Almost all our wines can be combined with some club soda and fruit for a quick and easy sangria; however, we wanted to share one of our favorites. We've replaced the typical brandy with a lighter silver rum. These recipes are Blue Goose staple for family gatherings.
1 Bottle Vinny's Special Red or Foothills Red
1/2 liter of club soda
1/4 cup fresh orange juice
1/2 cup silver rum
up to 1/4 cup super fine sugar (based on your desired taste)
Mixed fruit such as apples, berries, citrus
Mix up all your ingredients in a pitcher or punch bowl and serve over ice
Pro Tips: Don't have super fine sugar no worries you can utilize a basic coffee grinder to make your normal or course sugar fine.
You can add more wine or club soda based on the desired strength of your drink.
Also for a great winter or Christmas sangria simply add some cloves and cinnamon.
1 bottle Foothills kiss or Foothills White
1/4 cup welches sparkling grape juice
1/4 cup club soda
1/4 silver rum
mixed fruit such as apples, white grapes, and berries
Mix up and serve over ice
